The group NC WARN will hold a meeting for elected officials and the public this week on fire safety at the Shearon Harris nuclear plant.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the multipurpose room of Central Carolina Community College on U.S. 64 West in Pittsboro.

Speakers will include nuclear safety engineer David Lochbaum of the Union of Concerned Scientists in Washington, D.C.; Paul Gunter of the Nuclear Information and Resource Service in Washington, D.C.; and John Runkle, attorney for NC WARN.
