Couple faces drug charges

A Chatham County couple was charged after the N.C. Air National Guard and Chatham County Sheriff's Office found 36 marijuana plants with a street value of $90,000 growing on their property, a sheriff's news release says.

Louis DiCarlo, 61, and his wife Melissa Semenov, 56, both of 1389 Hadley Mill Road, Pittsboro, were charged with felonious manufacturing of marijuana, felonious maintaining of a dwelling for controlled substances and felonious possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana. Both were released on a written promise to appear in court and are scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on Sept. 27.

Narcotics agents obtained a search warrant for the couple's home and found packaged marijuana as well as three rifles, a shotgun, a revolver and $892.
