Classes set on 'How Government Works'

The fall session of "Chatham Citizens' College: How Government Works" begins Sept. 7. The group will meet Thursdays for 11 weeks from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Residents will have the opportunity to learn how the county and municipal governments function. Classes include an introduction to town management, courts and elections, county planning, county emergency operations, and public schools and community college.

The cost is $25, and students are chosen to create a diversified class. Scholarships are available.
