Tales of the Mecca
This year the Mecca, a venerable eatery favored by the notable and the unknown alike, celebrates its 75th anniversary. The restaurant has withstood a depression, a World War, the closing of Fayetteville Street to automobile traffic and soon will see the reopening of Fayetteville Street. It's believed to be the oldest continuously operating restaurant in the state. June 7, 2005
